Use Keyboard Shortcuts and Device Redirections




To use keyboard shortcuts and device redirections in Microsoft Remote Desktop for OS X Yosemite, follow these steps:



  • To use macOS keyboard shortcuts to cut, copy, and paste in a remote session, press Command-X, Command-C, and Command-V respectively.



  • To redirect your local microphone to the remote session, go to Preferences > Devices & Audio and enable Microphone redirection. Then start a connection and allow access to your microphone when prompted.



  • To redirect your smart card to the remote session, go to Preferences > Devices & Audio and enable Smart card redirection. Then start a connection and insert your smart card when prompted. Note that you cannot use a redirected smart card to sign in to your remote PC.



  • To redirect your printer to the remote session, go to Preferences > Devices & Audio and enable Printer redirection. Then start a connection and choose your printer from the list of available printers in the remote session.
