Virtual Mentor Program
The New Teacher Collab is committed to providing support for new teachers beyond just supplying resources. To fully open the doors to other classrooms and begin developing their own Professional Learning Network (PLN), new teachers can connect with virtual mentors.
A virtual mentor is an experienced teacher or administrator who serves as a mentor to a new teacher in a digital space instead of face-to-face. It "requires the use of some form of information and communication technology (ICT) and can include sending emails between a mentor and mentee,..., chatting using a messenger program or social media, video conferencing..., and posting messages to digital bulletin boards or forums" (Garring, Kaufman, Stelter, Shane & Kupersmidt, 2019, p. 3).
